It is so funny to see that my last post was titled 'Looking Back to 2016' and now I'm here to post something new with a similar title. I've been abandoning this blog for almost a year! Wow I know I am such a bad blogger hahaha.
I finally have the energy and willingness (lol) to come back here and write something. I'd like to express apologies to my blog and myself for not being able to commit to writing posts on a weekly or monthly basis. I was too lazy to arrange beautiful and meaningful words to express my feelings or my thoughts because my body didn't cooperate well. Okay I know it was such a lame excuse but whatever I'm gonna start listing some good and bad things that happened in 2017!
January
- Started my 2017 in the Holy Cities.
It was my second time performing Umrah but I think this time was much more meaningful than the first one. I was actually feeling the peacefulness and blissfulness of being able to get away from the worldly life and just focus on my relationship with Allah. I wish I could go back there soon!
February
- Started the thesis
- Spent two days and one night in Puncak for the Malam Keakraban with Batch 2013
March
- Was able to participate as a cast/performer for Last Performance 2017! For your information, Last Performance is like a small event (like a concert? musical drama? anything...) presented by the final-year students and it was such a fun experience hahaha. I performed twice: as a model and a dancer HAHAHA
April
- Flew to Malang for a few days with Fida and Nina to participate in a Psychology conference hahaha. For me, events like this are actually meant to be an opportunity for me to have a short getaway!
May
- My first time participating in an IELTS Test. Satisfied enough with the result alhamdulillah
- Met new friends at the IELTS Prep course. They made the class fun although we had to attend the class from 4PM to 6.30, from Monday to Thursday!
- First time being a Pengawas SBMPTN and it was boring but the fee was satisfying hehehe
- Another chance to become an Interviewer for AFS Selection in Bogor, thanks to Denvi
June
- JUNE 13TH, the day! Succeeded presenting my thesis in front of 2 examiners. Thank God both of them were so kind. I went out from the room after 1.5 hours, I guess? Faster than most people so when I came out the room, only Fida was there because my friends did not expect I'd finish that quickly.
- Lost my phone a day after thesis defense... however, I got it replaced a few days after, alhamdulillah.
July
- First time becoming a solo facilitator for Training Mentor OKK UI
- Finally using the train again for out-of-town trips after 2 years! And back to Gambir station for the first time since I was a kid
- Attended the first wisuda outside my uni haha. I went to ITB's Graduation Ceremony and it was packed, but not as packed as UI's grad ceremony.
- A weekend trip to Bandung with my high school buddies
August
- Another trip to Bandung with my uni mates
- First time trying to stay in Airbnb! And there was some horror story while staying there haha although I didn't feel anything mysterious
- First time going to a mall with full kebaya outfit after gladi bersih because I made a dinner appointment with my middle school friends
- Had my Judicium ceremony on August 21, alhamdulillah I checked one of my big goals in Uni: graduated Cum Laude.
- Finally becoming an alumnus of Universitas Indonesia. Can't believe 4 years were so fast...
September (the start of job-seeking war lol)
- Applied a job for the first time and rejected for the first time lol but it made me think so much about my future. There's always a silver lining for every bad thing happened.
- Had a chance to become an assistant for assessors for Talent Assessment alumni lpdp
October
- Applied as an intern at an IT Consultant company yet rejected after the interview. BUT THIS WAS THE MOST CONFUSING INTERVIEW I'VE EVER HAD. The interview was smooth, too smooth. I guess I did not even show any mistake, I looked excited about the interview, I spoke with good English, but I still got rejected. I was still curious but trying to let go haha
- Participated in a workshop by Living Loving. It was such a great and unforgettable event because I had the chance to listen to great people's business experience: the owner of Chic and Darling & also the owner of Cotton Ink.
- Applied as a Recruitment Associate at one of the Big 4 Public Accountant Firms. Passed the preliminary assessment (English and Technical Skills) yet rejected after HR Interview because I was nervous as hell so I couldn't perform well that day. Kinda sad because I really wish I could join this place but I know there are better things saved for me later.
November
- Finally got a job as a Recruitment intern at one of the biggest e-commerce industries (not a local one). Still working there until now. So far, the work-load is still bearable, the friends are great, the food is also okay!
December
- I went to Thailand for the first time with Fida and Denvi. It was very fun, we couldn't stop mentioning about the trip even until now hahaha. Gained new friends from Malaysia and Thailand. Stayed at an Airbnb, and the place was cute.
- First time presenting my own research at an international conference!
If I had to summarize my 2017, I would say it's full of first-time(s) for me. Also, 2017 went very quickly because I spent the first 6 months finishing my thesis and the last 6 months looking for a job.
Welcome to the real world!
